Position Summary: This unpaid internship posting is for Spring 2017 (January-May) with flexible starting and ending dates (requires a minimum of 12 weeks).
Responsibilities: Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates the resident activities program for the Skilled Care, Supportive Care and Assisted Living Center residents assuring that the program is sufficient in scope, meaningful, and interesting to meet individual and group needs of residents. To solicit and incorporate resident and staff input and evaluation of the activities program. Completes assessments including MDS and care planning. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team to meet each resident's recreational therapy goals. Works collaboratively will Resident Services colleagues to achieve goals of the department. The recreation therapy intern receives work direction and supervision from the CTRS under the Director of Resident Services.
Qualifications: Must be in the final year of college majoring in Recreation Therapy or related degree such as Park and Recreation. Must be a current undergrad student without a BA or BS degree in the field of study.
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Hours/Pay Period: variable
Schedule Details: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with an occasional Saturday. Internships are a minimum of 12 weeks.
