Working under the supervision of the lead of the department, operates equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes and also operates mammography equipment to produce mammography of breasts for diagnostic purposes, as directed by a radiologist. Assists Lead Technologist and management staff with other duties as required.

Education: Associate's degree (A.A.) in Radiologic Technology from two-year accredited college or technical school.

Experience: Minimum of one month of staff technologist experience.

Knowledge: Working knowledge of mammography and radiography equipment, protocols, radiation safety, sterile procedures and medical terminology. Working knowledge of Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). General knowledge of first aid techniques. Understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

License, certification and/or registration: Current State of California Radiologic Technology certification, required. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology certification, required. Advanced Certification in mammography by the state of California and ARRT, required. Current Sate of California Fluoroscopy Permit, preferred.Current BLS for health care provider's certificate.
