JOB DESCRIPTION: Directs the strategic planning, development and implementation of a large and complex program or of several smaller programs. Plans, administers and monitors program budgets. Develops short and long term goals and objectives. Oversees related special projects. May represent the program in various national and international settings. May manage the solicitation of funding from foundation, corporate, individual and governmental donors. Collaborates with and seeks the support of representatives from other organizations. Establishes and administers policies and procedures. Supervises staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

* Manages key strategic initiatives for Emory Medicine's Patient Centered Care Initiative including all aspects of project management, financial management and operational success, development and implementation in building one of more of the system capabilities of Patient Access, Patient Intake, Communication of Results, Communication with the Care Team and Patient Education.

* Works closely with departmental administrative and faculty leadership of Emory Medicine, Emory Healthcare and The Emory Clinic to achieve consensus and drive change.

* Collaborates with Emory Medicine to develop and implement the Patient Centered Care Initiatives.

* Makes recommendations on Patient Centered Care Initiatives to leadership based on data/financial analysis and value stream analysis and patient experience feedback.

* Directs organizational changes through data analysis and facilitation of implementation.

* Partners with physician and administrative leaders to facilitate and engage physicians, clinical and administrative support staff across Emory Healthcare entities to implement identified Lean process improvements in the areas of Patient Access, Patient Intake, Communication of Results, Communication with the Care Team and Patient Education.

* Provides coordination with external consultants and manages defined Scope of Work for assigned external consultants.

* Ensures linkage and alignment of implementation with the Patient Centered Care Initiative Road Map and direction and communicates progress and barriers throughout projects.

* Presents project recommendations and milestones to leadership.

* Mentors assigned project teams to successful completion.

* Hires, trains, and manages office staff, including providing feedback on job performance and providing overall project direction.

* Supports staff in their professional development as a mentor, guide and coach.

* Performs related responsibilities as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master's degree in healthcare or business related field and seven years of management, process improvement, project management or related experience.

* Extensive experience in effectively collaborating among physicians and clinical and non-clinical staff in implementing process changes in an academic practice setting strongly preferred.

* Proven strategic planning, project management, financial and data analysis, and problem solving skills.

* Highly organized and forward thinking with a proven record of leadership in addressing complex clinical process issues.

* Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies and/or Lean/Six Sigma preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, public administration or a related field and seven years of related experience which includes two years at a management level, OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
