Job Description: Child-care Provider

Position Description: The Child-care Provider is responsible for the care of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers for a mother's group. The provider will primarily focus on providing basic care needs as well as engaging and participating in age-appropriate activities with children. A Child-care provider, helps to create an environment where children might become passionate Christians who make a difference in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with child drop-off and pick-up.
  • Pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares.
  • Love and care for all children.
  • Check/change all diapers 20 minutes before the end of a service or event, assist children in the restroom if needed.
  • Clean and maintain the area with a high level of sanitation and appeal to the eye.
  • Help engage or redirect the children in creative play, songs, stories, and otherwise provide a happy, wholesome experience.
  • Monitor condition of toys, equipment, and supplies and alert the Early Childhood Director or Service Coordinator to any changes.
  • Supporting the overall safety of the classroom through behavior management.
  • After all children have been picked-up, clean the room by sanitizing toys, removing toys or blankets that need to be laundered, and returning all toys and teaching materials to their proper place.
  • Comply and execute the Boundaries for the Protection of our Youngest Church Attenders and Their Leaders.
  • Attend any required training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least eighteen years of age.
  • Teaching or Childcare experience necessary.
  • Candidate must have reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, especially dealing with parents and children in a professional manner.
  • Completion of background check and reference check.

Relationships:

Child-care providers report to and are supervised by the Journey Kids Early Childhood Director. They will work directly with other Journey Church International staff and volunteers.

Compensation:

 $9.50/hr

Typically, 3/hrs every other Wednesday throughout the school year. Child-care providers are part-time and may help play a role in determining the number of hours they work.
