Atlantic Protective Services is recruiting to fill an opening for part-time (32 hours per week) Fire Alarm Dispatchers in our Virginia Beach facility. MUST APPLY IN PERSON: Applications are accepted from 10am to 2pm at:

Basic job requirements and compensation as follows:
Minimum Requirements
Absolutely clean criminal record (mandated by state law, not open for negotiation). Traffic tickets are NOT crimes.
Available for ALL shifts. Flexibility in your availability is a MUST, in case of emergency. (No other part-time jobs or school (however, online classes are acceptable because you can work on classes while you are here).
MUST be able to read, write, understand and speak English clearly.
Basic computer familiarity and good typing skills (a minimum of 30 wpm is required).
Reliable personal transportation is required. Dispatchers are often required to work days and/or shifts when public transit is not available.
18 years old +
Reliability is important; poor attendance for any reason means termination. (Dispatchers are required 24/7 365, there is no such thing as a snow day for Dispatchers).
Compensation
$8.00 - 10.35/hr. Exact days & shifts are subject to availability (we must be staffed morning, evening and overnight shifts, all seven days), but no one is scheduled less than 32 hours per week.
Paid training begins at $8.00/hr. Once you are ready to be on your own and have completed the state required training you will earn $10.35/hr.

Preference will be given for related experience (e911, law enforcement, etc) or applicants holding current registration with Virginia DCJS (any category), but all persons meeting the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Tobacco users should be aware that the monitoring station is a non-smoking facility and dispatchers are NOT able to leave the facility during their shift
