Mate/Deckhand - Full-time / Part-time

The Tropics Boat Tours is looking for a skilled and versatile employee to take on a multi-faceted hospitality position with a growing boating business on Clearwater Beach. It is an engaging, unique boating experience filled with entertainment for the whole family while exploring the beautiful waterways of Clearwater Beach. 

Due to our long days in high season, we are seeking employees that can work long hours in the Florida heat.  The standard shift is between 9-12 hours, but is high paced and your day goes by quickly. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: as a Mate/Deckhand, you will work on our vessel as part of our crew. You will be in direct contact with our customers and will be in charge of providing a safe and fun boating experience. Duties include bartending, narrating our area, educating the kids on board and selling merchandise.  

You will also have to be willing to do the “grunt work” attached to the position including but not limited to cleaning, ability to climb in and out of the bilges in the boats lower storage and some light lifting (cases of soda, beer, etc).

- A good level of written and verbal communication

- Multi-tasking skills

- A strong eye for detail and accuracy

- A team player attitude

- Basic math and money handling understanding

REQUIREMENTS: All candidates must:

- Have reliable transportation to and from work every day. The position is located on Clearwater Beach which means that all candidates must be prepared to have to deal with traffic and sparse parking seasonally. This will not be an acceptable reason for tardiness.

- Be 21 of age or older

- Be able to pass a Drug Test at hiring and be prepared for random Drug Screening throughout employment.

- Have open availability

**MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
