Hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available, Monday-Friday and every other weekend

HIL is an employee-owned human services organization that operates more than 100 programs located in more than 14 Wisconsin counties. We strive to be a leader in providing the best in residential and community-based services for individuals with a wide array of disabilities. We provide specialized supports to people with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, traumatic brain injury, mental illness, and people requiring services to support challenging behaviors.

 

Responsibilities

As a member of the care team, you will instruct and assist the individuals we support in the following ways:

  • Health monitoring including medication administration, personal hygiene, etc..

  • Daily living activities such as meal preparation and light housekeeping

  • Empower clients to use their own coping skills and make healthy decisions

  • Recreational activities such as watching movies, shopping, & walks

  • Community integration skills

  • Planning and participating in recreational activities within and outside the home

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill and/or potential in working with individuals with special needs in a supportive environment. 

  • Exceptional communication and problem solving skills

  • Desire and ability to provide support to people needing assistance with daily living skills

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or three years of equivalent work experience

  • Valid Wisconsin Class D driver's license for 3 years with an acceptable driving record per HIL's policy

  • Access to an insured vehicle is strongly preferred

  • Successful completion of a caregiver background check as mandated by Wisconsin Chapter HFS 12

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment TB test and health screen
