About this job

Right at Home is looking for quality caregivers to provide in-home care services for our clients located in the southern and western portions of Milwaukee county in addition to clients in Racine county (Waterford, Franksville). Our clients deal with senior related issues as well as developmental and physical disabilities.

The right candidate will have their own vehicle so they are able to reach the clients (whom are not on any bus lines or public transit lines). Some clients may require caregivers to run errands or take them to appointments (all mileage is paid and reimbursed weekly).

The right candidate will have a flexible availability and be available to work various hours including weekends and some holidays. We service our clients 24-7. Shifts are anywhere from 2 hours to 24 hours in length (short shifts are either stacked with other shifts or paid as premiums (often double time) and longer shifts do have break and sleep time worked into them at normal rate of pay without differential (you still make the same rate while sleeping)).

The right candidate will understand that this is a job and not a chose-your-own-adventure novel. Schedules will frequently change as we add clients and shifts or remove them. Caregivers must be willing to roll with these changes and work all assigned shifts, even the short ones, even the ones they don’t like driving to because they are ‘too far away’, even the ones where the environment may not be the best. This is a business and this is a great job for the right person who understands this and finds a way to make things work. You work as an independent in the field and must be mature enough to handle that sort of responsibility and must be an accountable person.

Pay is weekly by direct deposit and starting hourly rates are $11.25.

Experience is wonderful however we are willing to train the right candidate. We provide monthly educational meetings, which are paid, and pay for all of our staff to have online accounts with IPCED (Institute of Professional Care Education) an accredited online school that generates credits and transcripts where you can take courses in various areas of the industry and even become certified as a Dementia Specialist if so inclined (one of many certification programs available).
