Personal Care Worker (PCW)

This is the perfect time to join the growing home care industry to:

  • Provide personal care services to clients per care plan as follows: bathing, skin care, hair care, nail care, mouth care, and shaving with electric razor Assist with feeding, dressing, ambulation, exercises, transfers, and positioning.
  • Assist with bladder care, bowel care, respiratory care and medication reminding. May occasionally accompany a client to provide personal care outside the home.
  • Provide homemaking services to clients per care plan as follows: Cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming client living areas. Doing laundry, cooking client meals, doing client grocery shopping.
  • Complete and submit accurate and timely documentation of visits.
  • Report changes in client condition to Personal Care or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations set by State and
  • Federal governments, CHHC, state license and labor laws.
  • Follow OSHA and Worker's Compensation rules for infection control and workplace safety.
  • Participates in Agency in-services as required.
  • Participates in after-hour, holiday, and weekend duties as requested.
  • Performs duties for clients whose attitudes and values may be different from the employee.
  • Demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude toward all clients.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client, employee, and agency information.
  • Follow agency's Code of Ethics and Client Rights
  • Approach tasks with a positive, flexible attitude, practice team behaviors, and promote customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains continuing education as required by state license standards and provides documentation of same.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Able to participate in entire orientation process and pass skills tests successfully.
  • Able to read and follow personal care and/or homemaking plans of care and instructions.
  • Able to travel to client's home in all weather conditions.
  • Able to manage time efficiently.
  • Able to document visit notes and time cards accurately and legibly.
  • Able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds of groceries, laundry etc.
  • Able to hear and observe client during care.
  • Able to work in environments that may be unpredictable.
  • Able to walk or navigate safely on all surfaces including stairs while carrying up to 25 pounds.
