Pharmacy Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Receive prescription/medical orders
• Obtain information on new patient/youth to establish patient medical file.
• Enter prescription information onto patient/youth profile.
• Calibrate equipment needed to prepare or compound the prescription/medication order.
• Measure or count finished dosage forms for dispensing.
• Record preparation of medication in various dosage forms.
• Record preparation of controlled substances for dispensing.
• Package the preparation.
• Prepare and affix label(s) and auxiliary label(s) to container(s).
• Maintain drug and supply inventory and inventory records.
• Deliver medication to clinics/nursing staff and organize medication.
• Review pharmacy stock for expired drugs.

Specific Pharmacy Technician requirements:

• Area: Ability to work in the San Diego, CA area
• Licensure requirements: Must have valid, open and active California Pharmacy Technician license
• Education : High School Diploma or equivalent AND PTCB certification
• Years of experience: 1+ year(s) of recent pharmacy experience in a Retail, Outpatient, Long Term Care, Mail Order, or Inpatient setting
• Schedule: TBD
• Length of Assignment: Contract - Temporary
• Pay: DOE - $15-16 per hour
• Background/drug requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, client health screening criteria and drug screen
