PURCHASING MANAGER

Scottsdale, AZ.

Manages the purchasing and inventory control functions by sourcing of all necessary materials required to fully support production requirements at the best quality, delivery, and cost.

• Prepare and process purchase orders for all products and materials needed
• Work with our team of professionals: including customer service, finance and production.

• Create and implement strategy for the Purchasing Department to achieve its yearly objectives.

• Maintain global sourcing strategy with all vendors & all current and future vendors/products

• Lead the selection, approval, and management of vendors with capabilities needed to support our current and future business needs

• Implement risk mitigation plans to reduce backorders and supply shortages

• Negotiate pricing and yearly cost savings to achieve corporate profitability goals

• Create and manage supplier agreements

• Work with Engineering, Finance and other departments to identify & implement cost savings

• Assist in keeping all software updated and current with all related pricing and data

• Manage the internal Inventories needed to meet our customer demand and reduce waste

• Maintain and document accurate records of all goods ordered and received
• Tracking and verification of all goods and material ordered from various vendors

Education:

Associates or Bachelors' Degree in Business Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years of experience in a Purchasing role with desired responsibility in vendor development and the sourcing of products from both domestic and international suppliers.

• Strategic thinker and problem solver who can organically create strategies and help develop the required implementation plans.
• Strong, confident, & successful relationship manager with focus on win-win negotiating
• Strong computer skills, specifically with MS Office and other software platforms

• Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal & written communication, as well as team focused skills
• Inventory management experience required
• Experience with LIFO and FIFO methods of inventory mgmt.
• Desired knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, six sigma principles, ISO 9001/ISO 14001 standards
