Bartenders deliver exceptional service to bar patrons. Maintain standards of RAS (Responsible Alcohol Service). This is a part-time, event-based position located within the Food and Beverage Department of Honda Center. Hours for this position fluctuate depending upon arena event schedule.
Examples of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build a great rapport with bar patrons
- Have full knowledge of food and beverage menu items and accompaniments
- Ability to accurately mix standard cocktail recipes while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
- Set-up, maintain, and break-down the bar every night ensuring proper hygiene, as well as health/sanitation standards in the process
- Conduct accurate inventory during each shift
- Complete daily paperwork to support inventory and ordering procedures
- Understand and implementation of responsible alcohol service
- Understand and implementation of sanitation and food safety as it relates to the food and beverage industry
- Adhere to all cash handling standards
- Be comfortable with the arena and know how to navigate personally, as well as, assist guests
- Support any other Food & Beverage departments as needed
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisors and/ or managers
- Work with counter parts of operation to ensure event standards of service are reached
- Help maintain and ensure excellent customer service
Specific Qualifications/Abilities:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 21 years of age
- 1-2 years’ experience as a bartender in a high volume environment with understanding of basic bar procedures
- Basic math skills required; ability to accurately handle money and count change
- Must be able to able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Must be willing and able take and pass required Food & Beverage training classes including safe food handling and alcohol service
- Ability to work in a fast paced evolving environment in which guest satisfaction is always the goal
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy
- Flexible schedule – we prefer candidates are able to work 90% of all monthly events; ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
