Janitor

Summary of Position:   
Ensures daily that the facility is cleaned to the highest standards with emphasis on floors, restrooms and all guest contact areas.

Essential job functions:

• Daily cleans all floors in the FOH according to Cheddar’s standards and procedures (deck brush and clean tile, vacuums all carpet).
• Carefully moves furniture into position to clean and vacuum floors. Never stacks chairs or stools on tables tops or bar tops
• Daily cleans and sanitizes all restrooms in the facility with careful attention to the highest sanitation standards
• Performs other maintenance duties in the restaurant and on the grounds as prescribed by the manager

Qualifications:

• No previous restaurant experience required
• Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
• Be able to working in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Be able to safely lift weights up to 40 pounds
• Be able to use a mop, broom or squeegee as needed
• Must have high sanitation standards including washing hands frequently throughout the shift
• Must be able to tolerate brief exposure to chlorine based cleaning chemicals
