DIE SETTER

Full Time/2nd Shift

This is an entry level position requiring limited experience working with punch presses.  The basic responsibility is to support the manufacturing operation with regard to production.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Determines that all equipment is operating in a safe manner at all times.
  • Operates the fork lift truck in a safe manner to supply the presses with raw material and removes finished goods from the work area.
  • Responsible to maintain the proper material at the presses.
  • Places new coils of materials into the presses, makes certain that the material is feeding correctly.
  • This work is performed in a timely manner to reduce the amount of time the press is out of production.
  • Starts the press after completing coil change.
  • Is responsible for the machine producing a quality part before leaving production area.
  • Under specific instructions, removes, and replaces punches or other main die parts.
  • Cleans and repairs causes of jam ups in the presses, trimmer, tracks and belts promptly to return equipment to production.
  • Maintains the floor area around the presses to remove excess soil on material.
  • Responsible for basic housekeeping, for example: empty drip pans, sweep or clean to keep a safe work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to be certified to operate a fork lift truck.
  • Flexibility of working hours.  May be required to work extensive hours or days per week.
  • Able to be active on feet.
  • Possess sufficient physical strength to be able to load and unload trucks, mount coils of steel, move skids and boxes by hand, etc.
  • Able to read, write, and speak fluent English and perform light clerical duties.
  • Accuracy in simple mathematics.
  • Able to read simple blue prints, use basic inspection equipment such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
