Line Cook-Seasonal - Part-time

GENERAL SCOPE OF POSITION:   Responsible for the preparation of quality food products and presents them in an attractive fashion based on prescribed company recipes; learns menus and portions for all relevant items; follows proper sanitation to keep a clean and orderly work area including the preparation area and all equipment; develops a working knowledge of a kitchen environment and operates the kitchen.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Cooks and prepares food items
• Ensures speedy service and that only quality food items are prepared and served while using correct portions to ensure proper food cost procedures are followed
• Keeps work area clean, sanitary and orderly including the preparation area, serving lines, and all equipment
• Learns, understands, and demonstrates proficiency in operational tasks, service/production flow, equipment cleaning and usage, and menu items in the location
• Uses clear, concise, specific lines of communication between management and associates
• Ensures product temperature controls are met and maintained for quality and safety

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have the ability to perform basic cooking principles and procedures including the ability to read , follow, and prepare recipes
• Must have the ability to use a variety of knives and various kitchen equipment
• Participation in a culinary program, work study or similar culinary experience is a plus
• Quantity cooking experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
• Minimum age for consideration is 16 years of age
