We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Front End Manager Trainee.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Reports to:  STORE MANAGER

Summary: 

The primary emphasis in this position is providing and ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the entire Front End.  The Front End Manager must ensure policies and procedures are followed by; monitoring cashier performance, labor control, and customer relations.  A Front End Manager is responsible for; providing effective training, development, and work direction for all Front End Teammates.  This position requires the ability to encourage individual and group support toward department objectives.  In addition, this position requires; ongoing social skills, strong verbal interaction, good judgement, good decision making, register operation, some reading, light lifting, as well as, standing.  This position requires the Front End Manager to work in a fast pace environment and at times perform multiple tasks at once.  A Front End Manager must be able to run the service desk in an efficient and courteous manner that not only meets our company policies and standards, but our customers’ expectations as well.  Some duties include but are not limited to; selling and filling lottery, processing bill payments, selling money orders, maintaining dry cleaning, maintaining break/lunch schedules, ordering cigarettes/bags/candy/balloons, and  writing a schedule to meet the needs of the business. Position hours will vary with the needs of the business. 

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all Red Shirt Service guidelines at all times and assure team is as well
  • Greet each customer as they approach the Service Desk or Register
  • Assure the scan of each customer’s grocery order with accuracy and efficiency
  • Assure the proper use of the ScanMaster Discrepancy From and ensure proper communication of items not on file
  • Assure proper scanning and bagging techniques for maximum efficiency while meeting customer’s needs
  • Assure proper execution of the Less Than 3 Guarantee to avoid congestion on the Front End
  • Proper execution of all BFM Guarantees to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assure accurate identification of produce items and keying of appropriate code numbers
  • Maintains knowledge of our weekly and monthly ads
  • Maintains knowledge of all special promotions
  • Answers questions and provide assistance as necessary to teammates and customers
  • Assist customers with specific requests
  • Assures all are counting till/cash drawer/safe before the start of your shift
  • Assures that the register, cash drawer, cash office, and lottery tickets are secure at all times
  • Assures proper handling of all payment media accurately to maintain proper cash controls Settles daily paperwork and makes deposit
  • Settles  and reconciles lottery
  • Assures correctly followed void procedures
  • Assures proper use of override swipe
  • Assures proper authorization for check cashing
  • Enforces all security; money transportation on the front end, bottom of the Basket (BOB), sweet-  hearting, shoplifting
  • Assures correct procedures for credit returns, exchanges and guarantees
  • Abides by all store and department policies as stated in the teammate hand book and any other manuals
  • Assures all guarantees are followed and properly
  • Assures proper customer relations of all Front End Teammates
  • Assures team’s adherence to company policies
  • Communicates and work with store management at all times
  • Assures clear communication of all new departmental policies and procedures to all Front End Teammates
  • Assures the proper execution of the Feature Item and Toeing the Line
  • Conducts training and assess retraining needs
  • Provides feedback to Store Management on teammate performance
  • Recommend and administer teammate disciplinary action in conjunction with store management – including cash accountability policy
  • Delegates work assignments as needed
  • Assures proper department cleaning and sanitation including use of cleaning and sanitation log
  • Assures hourly store sweeps are performed properly
  • Assures the department is organized at all times
  • Guides and directs cashiers
  • Helps stock shelves and/or face the store as needed
  • Responsible for department achieving all budgeted numbers; labor budgets, gross profit budgets
  • Responsible for ordering department supplies and controlling supply costs
  • Follows all store and department policies as stated in the Teammate Personnel hand book and any other manuals which may be provided to you
  • Maintain proper inventory levels for cigarettes, tobacco, bags, and candy
  • Attend all department meetings, sales meetings, and huddle ups
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by store or corporate management
