About this job

We have a part-time opening for a Food Service Clerk.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

FLSA:  Non-exempt (Hourly rate; eligible for overtime)

Reports to:  Food Service Manager, Deli Manager (may vary by store)

Summary:  To assure high quality customer service and assist in department operations.  Provide support toward department objectives and helps to drive sales. 

Assignments and work direction will be provided by Food Service Manager, Deli Manager, Deli Merchandiser, or the manager/person in charge.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all Red Shirt Service guidelines at all times
  • Greet each customer as they approach the Bakery counter
  • Process each customer order with proper quantities, quality and price
  • Promote product through selling sessions and suggestive selling
  • Answer questions and provide assistance as appropriate
  • Assist customers with specific requests
  • Follow menus set by the Deli or Food Service Manager
  • Assure food is properly prepared, fresh, proper temperature, and presents well at all times
  • Must be or become ServSafe certified
  • Code date product and remove all out dated product or product unfit for sale
  • Reduce shrink
  • Avoid unnecessary waste
  • Follows all proper sanitation, organization, and food safety guidelines of department
  • Follows all proper food handling and labeling procedures
  • Follows all store and department policies as stated in the teammate handbook and any other manuals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
