DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE - ST. LOUIS

AIR CHOICE ONE, a rapidly growing scheduled airline is seeking candidates for a Director of Maintenance (DOM) position.The DOM is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance facility and reports directly to the Director of Operations.The ideal candidate possesses good analytical and organizational skills, is a motivated, self-starter with the drive necessary to develop at a pace consistent with the Company's growth.The position demands a meticulous approach with the ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances.

Other Key Requirements

  • To serve as Director of Maintenance under §119.65(a) a person must-
    • Hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings;
    • Have 1 year of experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service;
    • Have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity under either paragraph (c)(4)(i) or (c)(4)(ii) of this section maintaining the same category and class of airplane as the certificate holder uses; and
    • Have 3 years experience within the past 6 years in one or a combination of the following-
      • Maintaining large airplanes with 10 or more passenger seats, including at the time of appointment as Director of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of airplane as the certificate holder uses; or
      • Repairing airplanes in a certificated airframe repair station that is rated to maintain airplanes in the same category and class of airplane as the certificate holder uses.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.Four year college degree desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business and financial management.
  • Advanced computer skills utilizing MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Highest degree of personal and professional integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure organization is achieving the highest safety and quality control levels.
  • Ensure organization is achieving the highest level of regulatory compliance.
  • Review, develop, and revise maintenance operations manuals on a continuous basis.
  • Determine scope of planned and unplanned maintenance work required to include parts and personnel required.
  • Ensure that all inspections are performed on a timely basis to company and regulatory standards before returning aircraft to service, to include proper completion of inspection and maintenance records as required.
  • Ensure all repair and maintenance work is performed on a timely basis to company and regulatory standards before returning aircraft to service, to include proper completion of inspection and maintenance records as required.
  • Responsible for spare parts inventory to include ordering, tracking, receiving, internal and external documentation, returns, annual inventory counts, etc.
  • Oversee employees are performing work consistent with their capability and professional licensing.
  • Perform periodic internal audits to review recordkeeping, procedures, safety, etc.
  • Responsible for obtaining Special Flight Permits or other special authorizations as required.
  • Maintain complete and current library to contain all pertinent materials such as technical manuals, regulatory regulations and guidelines, company manuals and communications with access for all appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure all required training is completed on a timely basis and appropriate records maintained.Encourage training opportunities to promote employee development.
  • Promote culture of safety through continuous monitoring, communication, training, and documented safety procedures.
  • Financial responsibilities include annual/capital budget planning and expense management.
  • Responsible for all aspects of staff management.
  • Cultivate successful working relationship with representatives of the DOT/FAA.
    • Act as company representative during periodic audits/inspections.
  • Related duties as assigned or required.
