Home equity and consumer loan processing:

  • Receive and process completed home equity and consumer loan applications according to established procedures.
  • Enter application information into the loan origination system; maintain and update information on the system throughout processing.Maintain orderly files on each account with special attention to complete and accurate detailing of all problems or correspondence.Maintain accurate records and track loan information for all pending loans.
  • Check documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare and mail applicable verification/information requests (employment, deposits, credit, etc.); monitor until all information is received.Order property appraisal or other reports as appropriate in compliance with UPFCU's Loan Policy and procedures; monitor until completed appraisal and certifications are received.
  • Communicate with borrowers, loan officers or branch personnel as necessary.Assist members and employees with basic questions regarding lending services and loan status.
  • Mail disclosure statements on a timely basis; request documentation or other information as needed.
  • Prepare all correspondence for approved and denied loans.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the credit union, including robbery procedures and Bank Secrecy Act/AML/OFAC procedures.
  • Refer problems or unusual situations to the Loan Officer.

Loan closing:

  • Prepare all closing documents for home equity and consumer loans.
  • Coordinate closings with members and Credit Union personnel as appropriate.
  • Complete all filing.

 

Loan account maintenance:

  • Perform a variety of loan servicing duties as assigned to ensure that complete and accurate loan account records are maintained, including but not limited to processing discharges, real estate tax payments and insurance payments.
  • Maintain loan account records and process changes on the computer system and in the file as appropriate.
  • Clerical support:

  • Act as administrative assistant for the loan officer:prepare correspondence; maintain files; receive, sort and distribute incoming mail as needed; transmit telephone messages.
  • Respond to member inquiries about new loans and loan application status as appropriate; follow-up to ensure timely response to member needs.
  • Accurately prepare lending activity and status reports as directed.
  • Maintain the loan department area in good order and well-supplied
  • Lending back-up:

  • Act as back-up to the Collection Officer as directed.
  • Assist the Loan Officer with new loan origination as directed.
  • Cross-sell credit union products/services:

  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of current UPFCU products and services.
  • Actively talk to members and prospective members and listen for "cues and clues" to determine needs; suggest credit union products/services; and make referrals to Member Services Representatives and Loan Officers, as appropriate.
  • Attend business development events to promote credit union membership and products as directed.
  • Participate in all credit union sales and cross-sales programs as directed.
  • Other duties:

  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Work at other locations, as needed, for member service, operational, or training purposes. 
  • Attend and participate in credit union staff meetings.
  • Attend internal and external training to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the Loan Processor position.
  • Perform other duties as required.
