Maintenance Assistant (Full-time, Hourly)
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Description: Responsible for assisting Maintenance Manager in providing property maintenance to 120 efficiency units.This is an awesome opportunity for a make ready tech wanting to move up in their career.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to move, climb, lift, bend, stoop, stand for extended periods, stretching, stair/ladder climbing and ability to lift 50 pounds will be required.
Principal Duties:
* Replace light bulbs, filters and clean air conditioning vents, in vacant and occupied units, on an as-needed basis.
* Perform HVAC, plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, painting and other repairs.
* Assist with make-readies (includes painting, repairs, wall/sheetrock repair, lock changes, etc).
* Assist in picking up litter and general landscape efforts.
* Handle 'on call' duties whenever needed.
* Perform preventative maintenance
* Respond in a timely manner to work orders and emergency repairs.
Qualifications: Minimum of one year experience working in property maintenance or in similar fields, such as handyman work or construction. Basic computer skills preferred.Applicant must have the ability to work with staff, tenants and community members from diverse backgrounds. Certifications preferred but not required -- HVAC certification a strong plus, Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and have a valid Identification to be eligible for employment.Applicant must be reliable, ethical and able to complete tasks independently.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience, includes a generous benefit packet with 401K plan.
