Campus Safety Officer - 2016-17 School Year
Department of Safety-Multiple School Sites
FTE: 8 hours a day (overtime may be available on nights and weekends)
Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.84 per hour based on experience
Essential Functions and Objectives:
The Campus Safety Officer provides proactive security services in order to promote a safe and secure environment for District schools, sites, related property and assets, in accordance with District policies, applicable Federal, state, and local laws. Duties may include conducting screenings, responding to alarms, writing incident reports and more. This position comes with a great day time schedule, which includes holidays, weekends, and summers off. There are wonderful opportunities for advancement and we offer paid training for our positions.

The Safety team strives to promote safe school communities by emphasizing Safety, Service and Enforcement. The Department provides a wide range of services that include armed patrol response, school based safety, dispatch and communications, investigations, emergency preparedness, system specialists and administration. Our officers work closely with the Denver Police Department to ensure our schools remain safe for students and staff to learn and thrive. - 18+ years old
Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated work experience in criminal justice (law enforcement, security) is desired.
- Education or training in criminal justice or related field is desired.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is desired.
- Must pass a complete background check to include criminal and employment reference check.
- Must be able to obtain the merchant guard license.

Continued employment is contingent on successful completion and passing 160 paid hours of training conducted by the department, including First Aid, CPR and AED certifications and Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) certification.
