Store Associate , with Technical and Device Repair - Full-time / Part-time

Batteries Plus Bulbs, the nation's largest, fastest-growing battery and light bulb franchise, is searching for full and part time Store Associates for our North Olmsted, Ohio location.  Store Associates are vital members of our team, providing the best possible service to our customers, resulting in repeat customers and increased sales.  Technical Duties Include:  Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures and other devices, replacing screens and other components on smart phones and tablets.

Reports to: Store Manager

General Function: 

• Provide customers total solutions to their battery, light bulb, and electronic device repair needs, while doing so in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner.

 Responsibilities and Qualifications (others assigned)

 Customer Service / Sales

• Greet customers, determine needs and answer questions.
• Operate computer / cash register to complete sales transactions with accuracy.
• Function as team player doing whatever is necessary to help attain company goals.
• Suggest and sell add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities in order to achieve sales and profit goals.

Merchandising / Inventory:

• Rotate and stock inventory.
• Load, unload, and deliver or arrange delivery of product to customers or via a third party.
• Maintain retail shelf label pricing.
• Prepare store for daily opening and closing including counting and reconciling register drawers.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations

     

Technical:

• Install batteries, perform tests and tech work.

• Able to rebuild cordless drill batteries and other battery packs as needed.

• Repair cell phone, tablets, and other devices.

Qualifications:

• H.S diploma / equivalent and 6 month’s prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior retail experience desired, but not required.

• Ability to gain quick and solid understanding of company’s electronic retail and cross reference system.

• Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills.

• Ability to handle multiple projects / tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects.

• Complete all required training and demonstrate understanding of all training in practice.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.  Pass background check.

Working Environment:

• This position requires employee to regularly stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch, frequently talk hear and lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulders and lift more than 50 pounds.

• The position also requires employee to occasionally use electrical cables, hand tools, magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, and a company automobile.  Protective clothing such as, safety glasses, steel toed shoes.
