Basic Job Function:

Responsible for removing scales and bones, gutting and cleaning fish, ensuring a quality product is cut, prepared and sold to our customer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Superior knife skills
  • General knowledge of fish products and seafood
  • Good communication skills with all customers and willingness to continue learning

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.
  • Customer service – Serve and assist customers at the counter explaining the products flavor, origin , taste and how they are prepared from personal knowledge and training
  • Maintain and arrange display of product, understand product dating and inventory control.
  • De-scaling and removing bones of fish
  • Gutting and cleaning fish
  • Cutting fish to smaller size
  • Maintain clean and sanitary organized work station, back room, storage and surrounding areas.
  • In addition, other duties maybe required as directed by your manager.

Additional Requirements:

  • Required to stand during scheduled hours. Hours include weekends, evenings and holidays (minimum 40 hours per week, 8 -12 hours per day, 5- 6 days per week.
  • Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, must be able to lift weights up to 75 pounds. Working rapidly, especially during peak periods to ensure that all customers are being serviced properly and the department operations are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and write the English language and communicate with customers.
