Southern Auto Auction, the largest independently owned and operated auto auction in the U.S., has an immediate opening for an Auction Vehicle Registration Lot Attendant.



Southern Auto Auction has been in business since 1947 and has been growing and expanding ever since. What began as a one-lane auction has grown to a 20-lane facility with a state of the art body shop, service department and 4 reconditioning facilities. Auctions are held every Wednesday where approximately 3-5 thousand vehicles run through our auction lanes.



Summary: Assist in the organization, administration and coordination of registering auction vehicles for weekly sale with accuracy and dependability. Ensure that the proper documentation has been completed and processed for vehicle pick-up by dealers.



Job Responsibilities:




  • Labeling vehicles with auction lot numbers according to the information received by dealers pertaining to the year, make, model, and condition of the vehicles being entered in the weekly auction sale day.

  • Familiarize dealers with registration procedures to comply with weekly auction registration regulations.

  • Communicate with dealers in person, to ensure dealers are completely informed of the status of registered vehicles.

  • Record vehicle identification information into custom hand-held computer system accurately.

  • Research vehicle mileage or VIN discrepancies on sale days.

  • Send the appropriate vehicles to Recon or Car wash accordingly.

  • Locate vehicles before, after and during sale day.

  • Explain auction services provided to dealers entering vehicles in weekly auction.

  • Assist dealers by directing them to appropriate vehicle storage areas in order to find missing vehicles.

  • Resolve any complaints or problems; seek guidance from Vehicle Reg. Mgr. as appropriate.

  • Assist with snow removal in the winter months.



Requirements:




  • High school Diploma or equivalent education.

  • Valid Drivers license with a clean driving record.

  • Innate ability to communicate with a variety of individual personalities in a pleasant yet authoritative manner.

  • Good Interpersonal skills; Ability to stand behind company decisions.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Auction experience a plus!



Schedule: Full-Time, M-F 40 hours(Tuesdays 8am-8pm). More than 40 hours may be required according to business needs. You may be required to work weekends in the winter months.



Salary: $11/hr - Temp-to-hire



Physical Requirements:

This is an outdoor position which requires you to stand and walk a minimum of eight hours to a maximum of twelve hours per day in all weather conditions and climb in and out of vehicles.
