Inpatient Pharmacy Technician



Job Responsibilities
  • Gathering all orders put in - gather all clean room medications and prep for clean room according to USP 797 compliance
  • Compounding IV's, TPN's, PCAs, Epidurals and labels all IV products. Prepares chemotherapeutic intravenous medications as requested.
  • Quality control for expired medications
  • Answer telephones when appropriate and within legal guidelines and direct calls to appropriate
  • Inspects medications for outdates in patient care area Pyxis stations on quarterly basis
  • Check in the order, processes invoices, credits and backorders. Restocks medication on the shelves as needed and, if needed, purchases medication from suppliers.
  • Receiving, verifying and stocking inventory, cleaning engagement in shipping process including package prep for shipment
  • Assisting the pharmacist in all day-to-day Inpatient duties
  • Scanning profiles, correspondence and prescriptions and then filing
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Specific Inpatient Pharmacy Technician requirements:
  • Area: Ability to work in the Vancouver Area
  • Licensure requirements: Must have valid, open and active Washington Pharmacy Technician license
  • Education: Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Years of experience: 1-3+ year(s) of recent pharmacy experience within an hospital inpatient or ambulatory care setting
  • Schedule: TBD - will vary
  • Length of Assignment: Temp to hire
  • Pay: DOE
  • Background/drug requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, client health screening criteria and drug screen
