Although this only a 20 hour position, you must be available to work all seven days of the week Monday-Friday 9:30 am-6:00 pm, Saturday 8:30 am-5:00 pm, and Sunday 11:00 am-3:00 pm Assistant Manager - Self Storage Location: Laurel (Howard County) Maryland Employee Type: Part Time (20 hours a week) Industry: Sales/Marketing Experience: entry level to 1 year Education: High School Salary: $10.00-12.00/ Hour Description: Looking for outgoing, friendly, sales and goal oriented person to help manage and maintain the self-storage facility. Strong customer service skills are essential as we pride ourselves on being an industry leader in this area. The position includes an on-site apartment provided as part of employee's compensation. Responsibilities include: * Providing unparalleled customer service to all Sales Leads and existing customers (phone calls and walk-ins) * Assist the customer with determining appropriate unit size and amenities based on their unique, individual needs * Consult, sell and upsell additional services such as boxes, packing supplies and other retail products * Understand and explain to customers the Rental Agreement process including terms, fees, insurance and rights and responsibilities * Operate Point of Sale System and work within Windows environment * Manage cash drawer, make daily deposits * Process daily reports * Pursue collections and delinquent accounts, including foreclosure and lien process * Review and submit invoices for payment * Responsible for maintenance of property, including sweeping, changing of light bulbs, removing debris, dusting, cleaning units, restrooms, windows, etc. * Coordinate with outside vendors where necessary * Monitoring competitor information and making suggestions on pricing and marketing strategies * Local, grass roots marketing, including face to face visits with apartment managers and other professionals to enhance internet and phone leads * Promote business within the community * Help conduct a daily, physical inspection of the property confirming inventory, security and safety The ideal candidate will possess solid customer service skills, a strong desire to work with people and to achieve sales goals. Must be professional in presentation and appearance. Responsible for keeping property in outstanding condition to maintain company reputation. Capable of solving day to day problems, yet stay within company guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, interpersonal and problem resolution skills and will work closely with management to support goals and objectives of business. Must be detail oriented, organized and possess strong time management skills. Enjoy working independently. Must have valid driver's license and be willing, on occasion, to work in different locations. Candidate must be willing to submit to pre-employment background check and drug test.
