Grounds Worker - Full-time

Seeking grounds worker for New Caney ISD Athletics. Full time job with benefits.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To keep district’s grounds in such a state of maintenance that they enhance the total educational program without presenting problems or interruptions to the educational program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read and understand operating instructions. Ability to operate lawn care equipment. Valid driver’s license and able to drive a district vehicle. Experience: General experience in grounds maintenance.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside, inside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (herbicides and fertilizer), loud noises. Frequent district-wide travel. Ability to lift and transport 70 pounds a distance of 10 feet without assistance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of district grounds and athletic fields. 2. Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of lawn equipment, such as blowers, weed eaters, and power washers. 3. Assist with trash pick-up throughout the district. 4. Assist with equipment maintenance and repair. 5. Assist with moving furniture, equipment, records, etc., from one location to another. 6. Promote, follow and maintain high standards of safety and good housekeeping in all working conditions.

EQUIPMENT USED: Lawn equipment (tractors, weed eater, blowers, mowers, power washers, etc.)

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of auxiliary personnel.
