POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Porter/Beverage Runner position markets the nightclub and services offered to our customer base and follows all specific marketing requirements and guidelines. Performs in a public relations capacity when promoting Park Avenue. Assists the Bar backs and Cocktail Servers in opening, closing, and nightly duties. Retrieves and stocks inventory as needed. Maintains proper set-up, cleanliness, and maintenance of all venue space. Responsible for maintaining clean bars, stocking and cleanliness of glassware, bar equipment, and supplying bar/service bar. Maintains all assigned wardrobe/costumes in accordance with established standards and uniform guidelines. Requests identification and payment from customers in a professional manner. Works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service at all times. Performs other duties as requested.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

GUEST SERVICE/COMMUNICATION

- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner

- Greet all guests promptly, with a friendly and upbeat attitude

- Anticipate guest needs

- Adhere to all Park Avenue’s Standard Operating Procedures

- Maintain all Park Avenue’s Sequence of Service Standards

- Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area throughout the shift

- Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations

- Reports any issues regarding guest dissatisfaction to nearest manager immediately

- Ability to communicate in English with guests and co-workers

- Provide customers with information and directions

 

RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANGEMENT

- Recognize and acknowledge when guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated

- Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and promptly bring to a Manager’s attention

- Comply with all safety and health procedures as well as Company and/or department policies/procedures

- Comply with all state liquor laws

 

CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

- Proper set up, cleanliness, and maintenance of entire venue space

- Records and reports any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a manager immediately

- Responsible for making sure assigned area is always prepped accordingly with supplies and it is kept clean to run as efficiently as possible

- Ensure cleanliness and efficient organization during shift

- Ensure tables and sections are set correctly and maintained to a high level of presentation

- Clear tables and sections of debris and any spillage

- Wipe down stainless steel on all ice machines

- Fill soap and towels in hand sinks

- Wipe down coolers

- Report all breakage or damaged equipment immediately to management

- Empty garbage cans from the floor and dispose of it correctly with all boxes broken down

- Ensure all back of house storage and refrigeration areas are kept clean and secure

- Complete closing duties, including storing reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, and returning equipment to proper locations

- Deep clean walk-in coolers

- Deep clean dish pit area

- Clean drains of debris in all back of house drains

- Polish glassware and service equipment throughout the night

- Ensure daily/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed

- Maintain Park Avenue Safety and Sanitation Standards

- Clean all spills and waste immediately

- Sweep and Mop as needed

- Place all trash in proper receptacles

 

MAINTENANCE OF ALL TABLES IN SECTION

- Keep table tops, floors, and service areas clean/free of dirty glasses, dirty plates, trash, and any unnecessary items throughout the shift

- Ensure that all tables and chairs are set correctly and clean

- Clean all spills and waste immediately

- Place all trash in proper receptacles

- Clean bottle displays

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/TEAMWORK/DEPARTMENT

- Related duties as assigned based on extensive experience working in an entertainment venue

- Assist all other team members as needed

- Create and maintain a sense of urgency

- Appear in uniform for all shifts and promotional activities at scheduled time

- Performs other job related duties as assigned

- Assist with loading and unloading miscellaneous equipment, such as boxes, food, or beverage product

- Inform management of any complaint, comments or incidents

- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering Park Avenue standards to further the overall theme of the venue

- Ability to create and maintain service rapport through the Park Avenue Corporate philosophy

- Responsible for attending and participating in any training sessions and department meetings

- Responsible for appearing for each shift on time

- Give constructive feedback and suggestions to management

 

MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS

- Must have a Facebook page, Twitter Account, and Instagram which identifies the venue the employee works at (ex: John/Jane Doe at Park Avenue)

- Must have seven (4) tweets and IG posts per week in relation to the venue

- Must post updated event information on a weekly basis on Facebook page

 

Requirements

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

- High School Diploma required or equivalent

- 18+ years of age

- Proof of eligibility to work in the United Stated

- Hospitality experience preferred

- Possession of/or ability to possess a valid TABC certificate

WORKING KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

- Nightclub, bar, lounge, restaurant operations

- Liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail brand names

- Opening and closing duties

- Knowledge of drink recipes

- Proper lifting techniques

- Inventory and stock rotation

- Guest relations

- Safe alcohol service

- Proper garnish, cutting and beverage presentation
