We have an immediate opening for a Cook/Baker.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide nourishing food to residents, guests, and employees under sanitary conditions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Performs other appropriate related and unrelated assigned duties.

Essential Duties

  • Demonstrates the ability to prepare regular and therapeutic diets following oral and written instructions, menu’s recipes, spreadsheets etc., with knowledge of kitchen equipment operation.
  • Food waste is kept at a minimum.
  • Meal schedules and serving times are routinely kept.
  • Prepares foods for special parties and groups, and assists in the planning of these events in a cooperative manner.
  • Cleans and maintains the kitchen facility in a safe and sanitary manner including floors, walls, all equipment and utensils.
  • Performs dish washing of pots, pans and other designated items.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide food service to residents, guests, and employees under sanitary conditions. To provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis and expect frequent interruptions.  Ability work and cooperate well with other employees.  Must be able to communicate with the residents, family members, vendors and other co-workers in a tactful manner.
  • Performs other appropriate related and unrelated assigned duties.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma preferred.  Previous experience in service, restaurant and/or healthcare industry preferred. Two to three (2-3) years experience in cooking.  Previous supervision experience is helpful.

PHSICAL DEMANDS:

  • To be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • To be able to reach, bend, kneel and squat
  • To be able to walk and stand on a repetitive and constant basis.
  • To be able to use step stools.
  • To be able to hear call system, pager signals and spoken English language.
  • To be able to wear protective gloves supplied by the facility.
  • To be able to be in contact with domestic pets.
