POSITION SUMMARY

Maintaining cleanliness of laundered items for the patients and residents of Appalachian Christian Village.

Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis and expect frequent interruptions.  Ability work and cooperate well with other employees.  Must be able to communicate with the residents, family members, vendors and other co-workers in a tactful manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Must gather, wash, dry, and fold all laundered items and return to appropriate places. 

     TEAMWORK

  • Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow co-workers.
  •  Assist other co-workers in the performance of their assignments.

o Seek out opportunities to help rather than waiting to be asked.

o Consider the impact of your actions on co-workers throughout company.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary within the Department.

     PROBLEM SOLVING

  • Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
  • Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet client expectations.
  • Take initiative to do or redo inadequate or incomplete work, even if it is not yours.

Requirements

EDUCATION:


High school diploma preferred.   On the job training and in-services.   Previous experience in patient care setting preferred.


PHSICAL DEMANDS:



  • To be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • To be able to reach, bend, kneel and squat

  • To be able to walk and stand on a repetitive and constant basis.

  • To be able to use step stools.

  • To be able to hear call system, pager signals and spoken English language.

  • To be able to wear protective gloves supplied by the facility.

  • To be able to be in contact with domestic pets.
