You might have trouble answering job assessment questions because you aren't sure exactly what employers are looking for. Often times, the instructions state that there is no right or wrong answer, but you wouldn't be taking it if that was the case, right? The truth is job questionnaires are used to see if the employer is a good match for you, just as much as it is to see if you are a good fit for them.

The most important thing to keep in mind when filling these out is to be truthful. That way you will be matched with the best possible position for you. For example, if you aren't good at resolving conflict between others then say strongly disagree. This way you won't be placed in a customer service job that doesn't fit your skill set. Imagine dealing with angry customers for eight hours. Yikes!

Answering the job assessment honestly will not only set you up to succeed in your position, but you will also have more job satisfaction. Doing your best in a job comes down to the role fitting your skills and personality. A quiet person won't enjoy a receptionist position any more than a social butterfly would like a night shift stocking job.

It can be tempting to try to give the answer you think the employer wants to hear because you need a job, but it could backfire in the end. You wouldn't want to take away a job that you wouldn't even enjoy from a truly qualified applicant. And you wouldn't want that to happen to you. Your best bet is to be yourself and the perfect fit will come along. It will pay off in the long run.
