Do you have a job interview coming up at ALDI? Way to go! A great way to prepare for the big day is to sit down with a friend or family member and practice answering common job interview questions through mock interviews. By perfecting your answers to these questions, you will feel more calm and confident during the real interview.
If your interview is at ALDI, you're most likely competing for a team member position. Typically, you'll be asked questions related to customer service, your experience working for other food stores and your knowledge about their products.
1) Why do you want to work at ALDI?
By asking this question, employers are trying to see what you know about the company and why you specifically want to work there. Use this as an opportunity to show off the research you've done on the company and your reasons for wanting to work at ALDI.
"I want to be an ALDI employee because I've worked in food stores before and I loved my experiences there. Specifically, I admire how your company values collaboration and flat hierarchies, which allows leaders to know their people. Based on the research I've done, I think that I would be a great fit for the team."
2) Where do you see yourself in five years?
Because ALDI uses flat hierarchies in their stores, they strive to fill their management positions internally. In other words, employers will be looking for people who they can eventually promote, so be sure to explain how your career goals align with moving up in the company.
"In five years, I hope to be serving the ALDI family as a store manager. You seem to be skilled at recognizing talent and empowering employees to reach their goals. I plan to take advantage of these opportunities and work hard to be a dedicated and dynamic employee."
3) What would you do if you saw an employee take a Snickers bar and eat it while working?
Interviewers want to know if you will uphold ethical values as an ALDI employee and whether you'll be committed to the company by standing up for what is right. Demonstrate how you would act with integrity.
"If I saw another employee take and eat a Snickers while working, I would immediately report the situation to a person in management so they could promptly and appropriately address the issue."
4) Do you have any experience in building displays or cashiering?
The employer simply wants to know if you have any experiences with the kinds of responsibilities that the position would entail.
"In the past, I've worked for Kroger. Although I was mostly responsible for restocking and building displays, I did gain a little experience as a cashier. However, I'm a fast learner and could quickly improve."
5) Do you have any questions for me?
Because interviewers will want to get your feedback and address any concerns, they will most likely ask you if you have any questions. Feel free to ask questions that will help you better understand the position or the company's policies. For example, you could ask:
What would my main responsibilities be?
How does ALDI strive for an exceptional customer service experience?
What makes an ideal employee?
