OBJECTIVES:

The R&D Digital Health Sciences group within the Data Sciences Institute (DSI) supports the development, adoption, and deployment of Digital Health Tools (DHTs) within our clinical programs. We are progressive thinkers who leverage digital platforms, digital measurement technologies, and pioneering research to help deliver life-changing medicines to patients. Together with our colleagues across R&D and Commercial we take on fundamental challenges such as enabling global decentralized trials, development of novel endpoints, the discovery of new digital biomarkers, and the design of digital companions, culminating in a reduction of patients’ burden and improvement of their quality of life.  

As a key member of the group at this exciting and transformative time you will:  

  • Own enhancements to asset strategy by supporting Global Project Teams (GPTs) with design and execution of highest value Digital Health Products (DHPs), considering operational and commercial aspects as well as the longer strategic vision of the GPT programs. 

  • Lead the end-to-end activities of select DHP development lifecycles, from inception to a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within R&D. 

  • Establish DHP requirements and work with all relevant technology and development teams to ensure the right technology and platforms are being used. 

  • Ensure continuous and timely alignment between DHP development and GPT strategy and bring relevant stakeholders together. 

  • Coordinate, align, and ensure compliance, user- experience, scalability, quality, and guide the teams towards a converged and aligned solution 

  • Drive portfolio of DHPs and capabilities by continuously collaborating with peers within Digital Health Sciences and other DSI stakeholders as well internal and external partners (e.g. clinical operations, procurement, commercial, technology partners) 

  • Navigate the landscape of data privacy, specifically focused on regional / geographic considerations 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Enhance asset value by owning and driving digital strategy and early execution/delivery 

  • End to end lead of the product development life cycle from the idea to the market ensuring a successful launch, usability, and compatibility. 

  • The product manager will manage the quality, budget, on-time delivery to milestones, and compliance of the technology to the established regulations and guidelines. 

  • Defines product requirements, leads the development activities to launch and implements post-market support capabilities towards market expansion. 

  • Works with the Global Program Leader (GPL) and the Commercial teams to establish and align on the strategy, scope, value proposition, objectives, timelines, and success criteria for the digital health product. 

  • Accountable to the GPL for the delivery of the digital health product and represents the Digital Health Product team in the GPT. 

  • Ownership of the product roadmap, technical specifications, and release plan. 

  • Orchestration and delivery of the digital health product through matrixed cross-functional delivery teams. 

  • Ensures alignment between the digital product and the clinical program. 

  • Leads a matrixed support team to cover all aspects of the digital health product (Quality, Legal, Regulatory, Privacy, IP, etc.). 

  • Works closely with commercial to collect all required inputs, market considerations, and ensure product compatibility to the market and patients. 

  • Develops metrics and measurements on how to track the product goals in the market and manage the future releases and change control process. 

  • Maintain and report on DHP metrics against GPT needs and success criteria. 

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field (e.g. electrical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, data science), or equivalent work experience. 

  • 12+ years of relevant experience, 10+ years in product management, and 5+ years in software or hardware development 

  • Health care business acumen, ideally from a role in Business Development, Search and Evaluation, etc.. with a basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. 

  • Proven track record of delivering programs with complex business needs. 

  • Self-directed with eternal curiosity and desire to learn. 

  • Proven experience in learning from failure.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$169,400.00 - $266,200.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
