Position Description: Local Area SME based in the County of Accomack, Virginia

Boarhog, LLC intends to establish a presence in and shift company operations to a location within Accomack Co, VA. In support of this activity the company is seeking to recruit and hire part-time Subject Matter Experts (SME) that both know and presently live in a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) areas, like Accomack County, VA. Once onboard, Boarhog intends to utilize the Local Area SMEs to develop a local information library and identify reputable sources for Boarhog’s operations and new associates relocating to the area including, but not limited to:


  • Company activity locations
  • Capital equipment sources for lend/lease/purchase.
  • Local service labor resources (unskilled/farm/plumbing/electrical/auto repair/construction, etc.)
  • New hire relocation employee community integration information
  • Retail and Farmer market grocery sources
  • Local transportation resources (i.e., DRPT (virginia.gov))
  • Recreational activity options (hunting, fishing, bowling, theatres, restaurants)
  • Local school/education resources
  • Local professional service resources (Medical, Veterinary, Agronomy, Pesticide, Moving, etc.)
  • Local hobby/social/service clubs/organizations (ex.: Scouts, FFA, VFW, etc.)

Requirements:


  • Be eligible to work in the commonwealth of Virgina, USA
  • Attend at least one coordination meeting in person/month. Boarhog will host a bi-weekly planning meeting.
  • This position requires a minimum level-of-effort of 40 hours per month and includes no overtime.
  • Hired associates must provide their own computing resource, online access, telephone access and have a permanent residence in in a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) areas, like Accomack County, VA.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, or compatible productivity commercial open-source software is strongly desired.
  • Have earned a high school diploma or GED.

Boarhog’s Company handbook and online timecard training will be provided at associate new hire orientation.

This is a part-time position, and all work can be performed remotely. Associates are expected to be available and communicative during scheduled work hours.
