D'Amico Catering is hiring for a Truck Driver/Houseman!

The Houseperson is responsible set up, tear down and maintenance of facilities for D’Amico Catering. This role involves the delivery of food, beverages and tableware from company facilities to customers in a timely and safe manner; managing routes to meet customer requirements while achieving optimum productivity. Collaboration with other department personnel is essential to meet or exceed customer expectations. The Houseperson is often a main interface with our customers and must provide a competent, friendly and professional representation of D’Amico and its image.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Read and understand stencil pack information including times, room sets, AV and client expectations.
  2. Follow through and attention to detail in completing tasks during setup up, tear down and storage of equipment and supplies.
  3. Drive delivery vehicle loaded with food, beverage and tableware to customer locations for ACE drop-off catering and providing back-up delivery for catering and other divisions of the company as required.
  4. Load delivery vehicles, taking into consideration safe food handling procedures, packing and loading to protect property and people, as well as planning routes for productivity.
  5. Get signatures on customer paperwork and complete other paperwork as required.
  6. Conduct vehicle inspection prior to driving and complete Department of Transportation (DOT) vehicle logs as required.
  7. Collect, pick-up and deliver materials from one D’Amico property to another within the Twin Cities.
  8. Prioritize safety by diligently working and driving safely, promptly reporting any safety concerns to a manager, and reporting all vehicle accidents in a timely, accurate, honest, and professional manner.
  9. Take pride in work and is committed to professionalism in demeanor & appearance.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  2. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a motor vehicle record (MVR) in accordance with company policies for drivers.
  3. Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT physical exam required of individuals driving box trucks.
  4. Must be able to sit and ride over various types of roadway and be able to enter and exit back-end load and driver seat of large box trucks on a continued and regular basis; often for up to eight hours.
  5. Must be able to read and understand directions and maps in order to navigate trucks in and around the seven county Twin Cities metropolitan area.
  6. Must possess manual dexterity in order to operate vehicle controls.
  7. Must be able to read, write and speak clearly and listen attentively in order to communicate with internal staff and external staff (most of whom speak English) and handle paperwork.
