Job Description

The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by managing carious accounting functions related to the waste management operations. The Ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a growing company.

 

Key Responsibility:

  1. Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  2. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  3. Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights into business performance and trends.
  4. Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions between different business units within the organization.
  5. Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate and timely financial data.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
  7. Assist in the coordination of audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory agencies.
  8. Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for audit trail purposes.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

  11. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  12. 3+ Years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  13. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP and Microsoft Excel)
  14. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  15. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  16. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  17. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  18. Adaptability to change and an eagerness to grow.
