Job Summary:
The Senior SQL Server Administrator will be responsible for developing, managing, and supporting all aspects of the enterprise MS SQL Server systems hosted on a virtual VMware platform. This role requires expertise in designing and building SQL clusters, managing high availability environments, and ensuring proper maintenance of the MS Azure SQL platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL Server administration and a strong understanding of database architecture and best practices.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a DBA with MS SQL Server
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure SQL
5+ years of experience with SQL Clusters
3+ years of experience with High Availability Environments
Experience with Oracle databases is preferred
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and deploy enterprise SQL clusters using Server 2016 and SQL 2017
Analyze, upgrade, and improve current high availability instances
Provide support for current SQL 2008 and 2012 instances
Plan and oversee the consolidation and migration of older databases to new instances
Document SQL policies and procedures
Collaborate with customers to determine database needs and deploy new databases
Provide guidance and support to regional database administrators
Support non-SQL database instances as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Microsoft SQL Server certifications are a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proven track record of delivering high-quality database solutions in a fast-paced environment
