Lead Slab Handler Warehouse

Work Mode: Onsite

Location:  Long Island City, NY (Ann Sacks Warehouse)


Shift: Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Status: Full Time / 40 hours per week
Pay: $28.00 - 32.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Slab Shift Lead position contributes to the overall slab warehouse operation and coordinates all warehouse functions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and contributes to the daily warehouse/slab gallery operations, including prioritizing of shipments, out bound freight carrier documentation, inbound goods receipts and documentation, maintaining inventory accuracy and assuring compliance to all company policies and procedures.

Safety- Practice and ensure all are following required safety regulations. Take corrective action to fix any violations or poor safety conditions and or report to management. Maintain accurate documentation of safety training and issues.

Inbound Goods- Responsible for accurate inspection, documentation, posting of all inbound goods and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Shipments- Responsible for the accuracy for outbound customer shipments. Ensure all shipments are packed to company brand standards. Carrier documentation is completed and accurate.

Operational workflow- Responsible to ensure the workflow of warehouse operations and proactively avoid bottlenecks while adhering to warehouse lead times for Inbound material, outbound shipments, customer samples and returns.

Planning- Man hour planning, warehouse/slab yard operations schedule, departmental budgets, establishing work procedures to meet production schedules.

Analyses and resolves work problems, recommends and implements process changes to drive increased efficiency and utilization.

Initiates personal actions. Maintains time and procedure records. Oversees the training of new employees. Evaluates performance of employees and provides recommendations for promotions or transfers.

Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum 4 years of leadership responsibilities in a warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Slab/Stone experienced required.
- Forklift experience required
- Microsoft office experience required
- Exposure to SAP or similar operating systems preferred.
- Lean manufacturing methodology preferred
- High school diploma preferred
- 18+ years old 
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and read/write in English.
- Ability to stand/walk 8+ hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. 
- Ability to implement and follow all safety policies and procedure
