Patient Care Coordinator

Oakland Psychological Clinic is a premier outpatient private practice offering mental health and chemical dependency services in 8 convenient locations in Southeastern Michigan. We're seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator for our Grand Blanc location.

Compensation:

  • $14-$16 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing reception and clerical support in the clinic's front office.
  • Responsible for receptionist duties, which include scheduling appointments, taking messages, and responding to the needs of patients and callers.
  • Positively presents the clinic by offering a positive customer
    relations.
  • New client responsibilities (offer & explain paperwork, verify
    completion, signatures & consents, obtaining insurance information, and
    input face sheets).
  • May create documents and correspondence.
  • May assist with clinical records.
  • Interacts with clinical staff collects patient fees and responds to questions about patient accounts.
  • Accessing and assisting with patient records and following procedures related to Confidentiality of Patient Records and Disclosure of Patient Records policies. Access is limited to pulling and filing charts and reviewing portions of the medical record, as needed and upon request during patient communication and provision of services

Requirements:

  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Comfortable on computers (EMR experience preferred)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare office setting

Oakland Psychological Clinic, P.C. (OPC) is an outpatient mental health and chemical dependency clinic with eight convenient locations in Southeastern Michigan. It serves children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and older people. The company was founded by Barry Tigay, Ph.D., in 1983. Dr. Tigay received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Wayne State University in 1977 and interned at Lafayette Clinic in Detroit. Before founding OPC, he was President of Psychological Resources Inc. in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

OPC was established to serve the mental health needs of a diverse population base in southeastern Michigan and to respond to changes in the nation's healthcare delivery system. Insurance companies and employers have begun to contract with more extensive, multidisciplinary practices to meet stringent quality standards and improve access to care. OPC offers healthcare consumer choices. Patients have options in location, therapists, professional orientation, time, and appointment day. A wide variety of mental health counseling services are available at OPC.
