Job Title: TWIC Laborer - New Orleans

Location: New Orleans Terminal

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Day shift and Night Shift Opportunities, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekends as needed.

Overview: We are currently seeking both entry-level and experienced TWIC Laborers to join our team of stevedores in New Orleans. As a TWIC Laborer, you will play a crucial role in unloading vessels and handling various cargoes throughout the terminal. This position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle various cargoes within the vessels and warehouses efficiently.
  • Unload materials from ships to barges, rail, trucks, or warehouses.
  • Inspect cables, straps, and rigging to ensure safety and operational integrity.
  • Provide directional signals to crane operators to facilitate precise and safe cargo movements (Flagging).
  • Perform general rigging tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of decks, warehouse, and ship holds to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all walking areas are free from trip hazards and dangerous materials.
  • Actively move cargoes throughout the terminal facility as required.
  • Support and participate in company safety initiatives to maintain an accident-free workplace.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
Work Environment:
  • This role involves working in various weather conditions and at different elevations.
  • The work environment typically includes areas where noise levels may require hearing protection.
  • Employees will be exposed to environments containing light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, and potentially hazardous conditions.
Safety & Environmental Factors:
  • Adherence to safety protocols is required at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Workers are expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) based on the tasks and locations assigned.
  • Regular training and safety briefings are conducted to maintain high safety standards.
