Job summary:

The Cook plays a vital role in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our patients and residents. This role is fast-paced environment. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to prescribed menus and recipes, adhering to strict dietary guidelines and restrictions, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. In this role the, Cook will collaborate with dietary staff to plan food delivery; providing high-quality meals that contribute to the overall well-being for the patients/residents. Additionally, the Cook supports in monitoring food supplies and inventory levels and ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Proficiently be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work independently and be able to work effectively as a team member.
• Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, maintaining a high degree of concentration.
• Knowledge in food safety principles.
• Basic understanding cooking techniques, food preparation and meal presentation.
• Ability to monitor food supplies and tracking inventory levels.
• Strong organizational skills to manage kitchen operations, maintain cleanliness, prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with use of cooking products and equipment.
• Commitment to quality/infection control.
• Must strive for providing high-quality food service to patients, residents, and staff by delivering satisfying meals.
• Possess effective problem solving skills to address kitchen related challenges and troubleshoot for positive outcome.
• Must have the ability to adapt to personalities of residents and/or coworkers and use tact in all forms of communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate or GED. 16 years or older.
• Experience in food services in healthcare setting.
• Basic understanding of food safety principle and regulations.
• Must pass MN background check, accompanied with figure printing.
• Complete TB test within the first 3 weeks of employment.

• Hallock, MN
• Full-time or Part-time
• Shift 7:15am-3:45pm
• Every other weekend and every other holiday availability
• Nursing Home/Long-term care and Hospital setting
