We are looking for a God-called pastor who can lead our church into the future with conviction, vision, and humility. The preferred candidate will be an Ordained Minister in a branch of Evangelical Christianity. The preferred education requirement is a Christian Ministries related Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred experience will include working within a Church setting with leadership responsibilities with supporting references. Significant experience may be substituted for the education requirement. The successful candidate will be an engaging, and faithful teacher of biblical truth who can relate to people of different ethnic, socioeconomic, and generational backgrounds. Salary and benefits will be negotiated with the candidate based on their full-time or part-time appointment, pastoral experience, housing needs, and family situation. This may include incentives based on targeted improvement objectives. Our statement of beliefs and bylaws are available for review by any candidate who wishes to review them.
Responsibilities Encourage and equip members of the local body to be involved in ministry, both in support roles and leadership roles. Serve as the spiritual leader of the church. Planning and leading the worship services of the church. Provide overall vision for the direction of the ministry of the church. Operate as the church’s primary Bible teacher and preacher, responsible for the regular Bible teaching ministry of the church. With the support of the Church Council, serve as the overseer of the church staff. Conduct weddings, funerals, and baptisms according to the doctrinal commitments of our church. Spend an appropriate amount of time in study and prayer in preparation for weekly sermons and other teaching opportunities. Serve as a leader by example in personal discipleship, stewardship, and evangelism. Meet with the Church Council, regularly, to attend to the business and ministries of the church. Develop relationships with other churches and organizations, in our community, consistent with our church’s mission and values. When needed, counsel members and families on matters of life and faith. Meet regularly with staff and, other church leaders to disciple and train them in ministry. Officiate the Lord’s Supper/Communion on a regular basis, currently monthly. Serve as an ex officio member of all church committees and teams. Ensure ongoing ministry to home-bound and nursing home church members. Regularly scheduled office hours to ensure availability to members.
Requirements A demonstrated proclivity toward leadership. Commitment to serve the church's current denominational and interdenominational partnerships. Understanding of and willingness to minister within the church’s statement of beliefs. A lifestyle congruent with biblical requirements of leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1: 5-9). A calling to pastoral ministry. Revitalize youth ministry, and provide direction, vision, and strategy to re-developing youth ministry activities in the church.
