Trust Compliance Officer (Hybrid/Richmond, VA)

The Trust Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the Chief Compliance Officer of Trust who is charged with providing adequate policies, processes, and systems to manage the compliance risks associated with trust and asset management services. The Trust Compliance Officer is primarily responsible for the periodic review of controls, policies, and procedures.

Position Accountabilities

• Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to Trust through self-study, seminars and training.
• Serves as the liaison for internal auditors and state and federal banking authorities and provides requested documentation.
• Prepares regulatory and compliance monitoring reports to include but not limited to:
  • Schedule RC-T Fiduciary and Related Services
  • SEC 13G
  • SEC 13F
  • Regulation R
  • SOC 1
  • User Access
• Performs periodic review of Trust related controls.
• Responsible for the monitoring of ongoing compliance training of current employees.
• Supports fellow teammates with compliance issues and ensures workflow efficiency.
• Supports the Trust Administrative Committee (TAC).
• Maintains the Business Continuity Plan for the Trust & Asset Management Services.
• Prepares the annual escheatment.
• Performs special projects as needed.
• Acts as back-up for the Chief Compliance Officer - Trust in his/her absence.
• Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bank's BSA/AML Policy and Procedures.
• Maintains files, logs and databases, ensuring that information is complete and accurate.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Chief Compliance Officer-Trust.

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Five years or more experience with trust operations, trust administration or trust compliance/audit.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of trust accounting systems.
• Working knowledge of bookkeeping, general accounting/tax principles and aspects of fiduciary law.
• High degree of professionalism.
• Proficient computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office Suites.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Flexible, able to adapt to change.
• Ability to work well in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines.
• Attention to detail.

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
