LOCATION:

QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicant must be able to operate all off-road type mobile equipment used at the generating station for the purpose of handling coal, earth, and ash; and must be familiar with stationary coal and ash handling equipment at the station, as well as the basic concepts of coal pile management. Must pass the EEI POSS test and the Physical Abilities Test (PAT). General qualifications such as physical fitness, safety awareness, previous job performance, attendance and punctuality records will be considered in the evaluation of job applicants.
Additional consideration will be given for the following job-related training or experience:
1. Previous experience as Station Helper, Junior, Station Helper, Senior or equivalent.
2. Switching, operation and maintenance of railroad locomotives and cars.
3. Knowledge or experience in manual and automatic coal sampling procedures.
4. Knowledge or experience in operation and/or maintenance of automatic coal sampling equipment.
5. Training or experience in maintenance of power plant mechanical equipment; or
6. Any other qualifications contributing to the applicant's ability to perform the job.
PRIMARY DUTIES: Perform all types of unskilled manual labor and certain semi-skilled labor necessary to maintain safe, continuous and efficient operation of a power plant in accordance with operating instructions, safety regulations and practices. These duties include unloading, storing, reclaiming from storage and conveying all fuel used at the station; removing and disposing all ash generated at the station. A Station Helper, Sr. will operate off-road type mobile equipment, as well as stationary coal and ash handling facilities; and will assist employees of higher classifications in all phases of station operations and maintenance.
In addition to the primary duties listed above, the employee may be called upon to perform other work as circumstances require.
