Position Overview

  • The Sr. Director, Delivery is an exciting role leading our Hybrid Infrastructure Services delivery for a global client base in our Cloud, Applications, and Infrastructure (CA&I) business unit. Demonstrated hands-on management style driving IT Managed services, IT operations, Hybrid cloud managed services, Infrastructure migration and modernization, and Digital Transformation. This position will lead a team of 500+ colleagues and manage a multimillion-dollar budget. It requires an ability to effectively communicate direction, commit people to action, and convey complex information in easily understood formats.
  • The role requires an individual that is highly collaborative with strong influencing skills, ambitious, creative, highly resourceful, self-driven and results oriented with extensive experience in infrastructure strategy, public and private cloud, server, storage, and operations.
  • Experience in software defined infrastructure, infrastructure as code, automation, and technology optimization to include infrastructure modernization, cloud migration strategy, planning, and implementation.
  • The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, utilize sound business judgement, and employ problem-solving expertise. This technology leader must collaborate and influence outcomes across a complex, diverse, and fast-paced organization.

  • Recruit, develop, inspire, and retain a high-performing Hybrid Cloud Operations/Engineering team.


Responsibilities:

  • P&L/ Practice Management
    • Has primary responsibility for the practice management and strategic business development for the services organization for which they are responsible.
    • Full responsibility and management for multiple service lines
    • Manages all financials and operational metrics for the practice.
    • Translates the client's long-range business plan into a services strategy.
    • Ensures that engagements within his/her area of responsibility consistently achieve or exceed revenue, margin, service level objectives and quality targets.
    • Provides regular oversight management of all engagements within his/her area of responsibility including periodic meetings with client management and engagement teams.
    • Ensures appropriate intervention and personal involvement in potential problem engagements as soon as practicable after identification.
  • Business Development and Client Relationship Management
    • Interfaces with the client's most senior executive team to generate additional business. Evaluates the client's business strategy, objectives and requirements.
    • Interfaces at the client's most senior management levels, up to the CXO level.
    • Coordinates the business development activities of the practice professionals, and mentors Practice Leaders in developing appropriate client relationships, and identifying and winning appropriate engagement opportunities.
    • Assures appropriate sales coverage at key accounts.
    • When appropriate, becomes directly involved in the pursuit of new business opportunities within his/her area of responsibility.
    • Assures that the full Unisys portfolio is appropriately leveraged across clients within his/her area of responsibility.
    • Builds and maintains productive Board and CXO level business relationships. Actively participates in and attains leadership positions in appropriate industry, professional and civic organizations.
    • Achieves and monitors overall client satisfaction targets for the region.
    • Works aggressively to mitigate client risks and promote a positive image of Unisys among clients and in the marketplace.
  • People Management
    • Manages Leaders of Leaders. Accountable for training, development, performance and career pathing for organization
    • Advocates and models a strong focus on performance management, development, career growth, engagement, and diversity within the practice.
    • Identifies and recruits, both internally and externally, practice leaders and other senior practice professionals who have the potential to become partners.
    • Nominates and mentors new practice leaders.
    • Actively participates in the Unisys college/university recruiting programs.
    • Works with Unisys recruiting to maintain a pipeline of outside experienced professionals.
    • Provides appropriate mentoring, feedback, training and development opportunities to help individuals within the practice reach their full potential.
  • Business and Industry Skills
    • Widely recognized by peers and clients as an expert in one or more domains; has successfully applied knowledge to establish client contacts and develop new business; has used knowledge to build own image and reputation.
    • Stays current with information management / technology / IT Infrastructure industry, competitor and vendor strategies, technologies and offerings. Conveys a significant executive presence, a high level of professionalism and a focused commitment to excellence.
    • Forecasts, plans, implements and reviews financial and people resources in order to meet defined business requirements in line with company strategic plans, targets and objectives.
    • Defines intermediate goals and contingencies.
    • Understands the meaning and implications of key financial indicators.
    • Analyzes, integrates and utilizes financial data to accurately diagnose business realities, to identify issues and to develop strategies and plans.
  • Deal Review Consulting
    • Consults with bid management/account management and reviews project proposals, contracts and other documents to determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
    • Participates deal review sessions to assure that all stakeholders in the project, including the client, have a common understanding of the terms and conditions (including commercial, solution, pricing/costing and resources) of the project
  • Work Style and Interpersonal Skills
    • Maintains absolute integrity while balancing the potentially conflicting objectives of exceeding client expectations for quality and value, appropriately developing professionals within his/her practice, and achieving Unisys financial objectives.
    • Utilizes a collaborative working style that stresses teamwork and places the best interests of Unisys over individual and team objectives.
    • Communicates in an open, candid, clear, complete and consistent manner.
    • Listens well and gives full attention when others are speaking.
    • Demonstrates maturity, self-confidence and self-control in formal and informal interactions.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Progressive experience within a managed services business
  • Average 15+ years of professional service experience managing a service line, including leading high-performance teams and functioning in a client facing role
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Management/Administration or advanced degree in related discipline or relevant experience
  • Cloud Certifications preferred
  • Active participation in professional associations, industry roundtables, etc.
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Deals with Ambiguity
  • Advanced priority setting and delegation skills for large program teams
  • Experience managing third party suppliers
  • Operate independently and autonomously in absence of strict guidance. Drive profitability and growth.
