Job Summary
This position is responsible for initiating, coordinating, and accomplishing activities necessary for the continual operation of the mine.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
*Performs engineering tasks of project design and evaluation, problem solving, analysis, planning, and project scheduling under minimal guidance in support of mine operations and management.
*Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
*Interface with engineering staff, mine site operations groups, and other Luminant personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions.
* Participate in special projects and committee assignments as requested.
*Accomplish mine reporting, royalty calculations and reporting, pit delineation and measurement, construction project staking and site mapping support.as necessary.
*Coordinates activities of other Engineering department personnel and contractors as required to support mine operations in the areas of spoil placement, drainage in pits, reclamation planning and other areas as assigned.
*Coordinate site needs for construction project design and approval to facilitate site production goals.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
*High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
*Knowledge of surveying required.
*Drone license or ability to acquire Part 107 license
*Contractor project management / budget tracking highly preferred.
*Minimum of 4-6 years' experience in a field associated with the job's necessary skills
*Proficient computer skills.
**Level of position will be determined by applicable skills and/or experience.
Key Metrics
*Related experience that promotes development in the areas described by the major accountabilities and key competencies of this job.
*Knowledge of regulatory requirements, MSHA and RRC.
*Experience in quality control of civil and utility construction projects.
*Thorough knowledge of mining methods, construction methods, design criteria and regulatory requirements.
*Organizational and problem-solving skills to accomplish multiple projects on short deadlines.
