Job Summary
You will perform administrative and clinical duties. As the MA/Back Office, under general supervision, will perform patient care duties including answering phones, making appointments, and insurance authorizations. This is a fast paced environment requiring dependability, great interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well as a team. We are looking for an individual who is a fast learner, able to help out where is needed and has to be familiar with working in EHR systems. Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with patient check in and check out procedures
- Triage and room patients
- Take vital signs and notate reason for the visit and any problems prior to practitioner seeing the patient.
- Communicate and work well with Nurse Practitioner and clinic staff
- Schedule and maintain appointment calendars.
- Order and process medical records.
- Perform laboratory tests.
- Ability to work in EHR systems for scheduling and patient records
- Assist doctors and NP's with procedures.
- Ability to read H&P evaluation notes and identify ordered disciplines
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
- Coordinate with office staff to meet patient care needs
- Performs administrative related duties such as answering telephones, taking and relaying messages, returning patient calls as needed
- Clean and prepare rooms in between patients
- Other duties as assigned, and as needed to maximize patient experience and clinic flow.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school for medical assisting
- Current medical assistant certification
- Experience using electronic health record systems
- Phlebotomy experience and certification preferred
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
CMA (AAMA) certified Required
Phlebotomy certification and CPR certification preferred
