POSITION SUMMARY:

The Communications Coordinator will have a strong working knowledge and awareness of KCM and EMIC mission and teachings. They will support the efforts of the communications department in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will work collaboratively with department leadership and coordinate interdepartmental projects with managers, designers, writers, and interdepartmental stakeholders to accomplish projects and various communication elements. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and collaborate well within a team environment.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Holds a strong working knowledge of the KCM and EMIC mission and stays adept to ministry teachings.
  • Serves the Communication Department Leadership by assembling communications and staying well-informed of communications projects.
  • Participate in planning meetings and assist with project coordination, schedule, and coordinate with all team members to keep workflow on track.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Support and assist with Partner Booth at conventions and events, as assigned.
  • Initiate the workflow of project goals through the communications team, contributing to developing the project plan, determining the schedule and organization of resources and coordination of those resources through project completion using project management software.
  • Work with other project managers, leads and individuals throughout the department and ministry to assign, traffic tasks in and out of communication operations.
  • Ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished according to time, cost, and performance standards.
  • Communicate with a pool of artists, designers, and writers for projects.
  • Follow-up with other departments, both locally and internationally, on project effectiveness and interdepartmental impact.
  • Communicating campaign deliverables, objectives and timelines to the team while providing instructions for promotion or use.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term ministry mission and goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, and content for partner and friends.
  • Further knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices, and local ideas and tactics with the team.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA or BS degree preferred. Or equivalent prior work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments, as well as vendors, contractors, and executives.
  • Good computer skills for generating reports, viewing marketing metrics, extracting data, and sharing this information with other team members in project updates.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications, programs and features is a must.
  • Having the ability to provide information on previous campaigns, projects and timelines overseen and implemented to demonstrate overall capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for representing the ministry in public, during events and while participating at partner meetings.
  • Understand how to manage time appropriately.
  • Being familiar with project management software is also an asset.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to stand and or sit for a ten-hour work shift.
  • Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
  • Must be organized and require a small amount of immediate supervision.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
