Description:

Our Director of Food and Beverage supports business objectives and growth by overseeing the daily administrative and operational tasks of the resort’s entire Food & Beverage program, including all food-and-beverage-related events and activities. This role is responsible for the overall front and back of house planning, direction, evaluation, and control of the Food & Beverage service units, achieving operational and financial goals.


This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

  • Interact with guests throughout their dining experience to ensure their needs are properly met
  • Address guests' grievances to improve and increase guest satisfaction
  • Interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers
  • Coordinate team member selection and development and ensure team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
  • Create a fun, safe, and rewarding work environment for team members including an open line of communication with staff
  • Oversee the daily administrative and operational tasks of the resort's Food & Beverage program (including the front and back of house, events, activities, etc.)
  • Manage the planning, budgeting analysis, and reporting for the Food & Beverage program costs across the resort
  • Oversee all Food & Beverage production (including menu planning, purchasing, cost control, and inventory for both the front and back of house)
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Food & Beverage and Marketing team to create promotional packages, create group menus, and update pricing to reflect current market conditions
  • Ensure Food & Beverage programs across the resort comply with Island's quality and financial standards, as well as government and Health Department standards
  • Maintain current knowledge of all state and local health and safety guidelines
  • Confirm the accuracy of monthly inventory counts and reconcile inventory with invoices
  • Ensure compliance with the preparation and maintenance of required records, reports, and paperwork for the Food & Beverage Department
  • Establish strong vendor relationships and competitive pricing to ensure proper profit margins and unique selections for Food & Beverage establishments
  • Ensure all Food & Beverage equipment is in proper working order and satisfies all health and safety requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Current Safe Food Handler Certificate
  • Current Alcohol/Responsible Beverage Service Training
  • 5 years of restaurant/food and beverage service management experience with increasing responsibilities is preferred
  • 6 months experience in P&L management is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in hospitality, restaurant, tourism, or event management is preferred
