POSITION OVERVIEW The Drawjet Operator is responsible to carry out all functions involved directly with Drawjet Operations. TARGETED OUTCOMES Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and processes and operations in a secure manner always Monitor and make sure product meets all quality specifications report any off standards immediately to make sure they are corrected Take required step to prevent yarn mixes. Ensure maximum efficiency on drawjet rows. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Retrieve buggies of bobbins from lag area. Correctly stock the right yarn in the creel. Daily check string up instructions, yarn type, ticket and tube color. Fill out product cards as required. Doff each position in accordance with a preset time schedule and check the following off standard conditions: out of tangle guide, out of cutdown device, pick-ups, incorrect string up, bullseyes, damaged yarn (un-runnable), and poor formation. Inspect doffed bobbins and disposition according to product specifications. Restring down positions within doff light constraints. Push complete buggies to lab or inspection lag are required. Detect and troubleshoot problems that effect quality and productivity. Tag out position needing repair in system and feedback quality issue to spinning area using RCA system. Enter data into computer for tracking system. Report performance changes, and other actions to provide shift to shift continuity and aid in problem analysis. Maintain records, reports, and logs to accurately document performance changes, and other actions to provide shift-to-shift continuity and participates in process problem solving. Check for carbon bull’s eye when applicable on both spun and drawn bobbins. Maintain housekeeping on assigned machines and in areas. Be aware of workplace hazards and enter HRR’s. Perform minor maintenance tasks and assist maintenance when they are in the area. Set up the oncoming shift for success by ensuring creel is well stocked and positions running to max efficiency. Communicate any recent issues (MYs, PDL, problem positions) and follow up needed. Assist in machine start-ups and shutdowns. Assist in training and coaching other or new operators. Comply with all safety/health related policies and procedures, participate in company sponsored safety programs and activities, and report to management those conditions or actions by employees or others that might create a hazard to themselves or others in the plant. Reports any work-related injury or illness, no matter how minor, to their supervisor or lead. Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts. Must be able to work call-ins, unscheduled hours, and overtime as needed. TEAM Reports to: Shift Supervisor REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED. 1 years manufacturing experience. REQUIRED SKILLS Ability to work in team based environment. Self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of the Drawjet process. Working knowledge of SPC. Thorough understanding of yarn identification systems. Good interpersonal skills. Effective reading, writing and interpretive communication skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must work where the noise level requires hearing protection. May be exposed to various hazards such as corrosive chemicals, steam, molten polymer, equipment related dangers, etc. Routine safety equipment: long sleeves, safety shoes, hard hat, ear plugs/muffs, safety glasses Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to push/pull buggies or carts up to 200 lbs. Ability to carry 35 lbs. Capable of climbing flights of stairs or ladders. Working at heights Capable of walking/standing 12 hours per day.
